This module focuses on helping you develop an appreciation of the functions within business operations, the key processes within the organisation and their impact on responsiveness to the external environment in which they operate. Year 2 Professional Development This module will enable you to plan and carry out appropriate professional development activities to increase your employability and performance.
These include self-presentation, professional networking, project planning and implementation, team working, influencing and multimedia communication. You will gain all the necessary experience required to take advantage of global employment opportunities.
This innovative module has been nominated for the Course and Curriculum Design award in the Guardian University Awards.
Realising this has really boosted my confidence. You will develop a working knowledge of law relating to contracts and their effective negotiation in different business environments.
International Logistics and Distribution Management This module is designed to help you develop a systematic understanding of logistics aspects and distribution management within a global marketplace. On completion, you will understand the various activities that make up international logistics and distribution management and appreciate the use of different methods adopted by organisations to generate a competitive advantage.
Business Research and Analysis Methods Through this module, you will develop the knowledge required to evaluate published research and consultancy in relation to its methodology and findings.
You will also gain an appreciation of the importance of business models by using a variety of methodologies and methods.
This module introduces you to the use of costing techniques in manufacturing and business environments. You will explore the use of management accounting information for decision making and performance measurement, and current issues in information technology.
The module helps you to develop a critical awareness of the relationship between people and workplaces in the future, together with the opportunity for exploration of implementation issues of digital strategy.
Managing International Events This modules is designed to help you develop an understanding of event management practices in an international context.
Through Managing International Events, you will gain an appreciation of the concepts, range, dimensions and characteristics of contemporary events within the UK and globally. The module facilitates an understanding of project management skills, techniques, methods and tools and their applications and limitations.
Optional Year Professional Experience Year All of our BSc students can apply for a one year professional placement, which takes place between your second and last years of study.
